A video of former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy waxing lyrical about Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has resurfaced - and fans will love it.
Branthwaite, 21, enjoyed an impressive campaign for Everton in his breakthrough season after starting 35 games in the Premier League.
The young defender, who missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024 despite being included in the provisional squad, is now being heavily linked with a move to United, who have today made an official opening offer.
New minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eager to shift United's transfer strategy away from experienced targets, as he looks to secure young and exciting talents to join Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo at Old Trafford.

However, United could face a stumbling block in their attempts to secure the deal with Everton currently valuing the player at around £70 million following his strong showings last season, with the two clubs far apart on their respective valuations of the player as things stand.
While some fans may think the fee is steep for a relatively inexperienced defender like Branthwaite, United hero Van Nistelrooy has highlighted why he is rated so highly.
The PSV Eindhoven boss, who had Branthwaite on loan at the Philips Stadium during the 2022/23 season, was talking on the Coaches Voice as he gave an insight on the tactics he used at PSV during that season.
As he was going through each position, he focused on Branthwaite and explained why he suited the team so well - which should excite United fans.
"I don't have to introduce him to the public now because he's doing fantastic at Everton, obviously," he said.

"He had fantastic development in the season, especially in the second half. He showed great quality on and off the ball. The touches he has with the left and right in the build-up but also defensively, the duels he was winning and the pace he has.
"We like to press high and be high up the pitch, be on the halfway line and he wasn't afraid to do that."
