Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has claimed that a current Manchester United player is trying to convince him to move to Old Trafford.

Musiala, who was a youth player with Chelsea before joining Bayern at the age of 16, has been one of the top midfielders in world football over recent seasons.

He has scored 22 league goals across the last two seasons, and was the joint top scorer - along with five other players - with three goals at Euro 2024.

Musiala was linked with a potential move to Manchester City earlier this year, with The Guardian claiming that Pep Guardiola had made the 21-year-old his top target after City were eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid.

But no move materialised this summer, with City instead bringing back Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer to boost their midfield.

But could Musiala one day make move to the red half of Manchester instead?

While that doesn't appear to be in his plans at the moment, the midfielder told German outlet Welt am Sonntag (via Sport Witness) that new United signing Joshua Zirkzee has been trying to convince him to join Erik ten Hag's side.

The pair played together for Bayern Munich's youth teams, with Zirkzee leaving the German club in 2022 to sign for Bologna on a permanent deal before joining United.

Musiala explained: "You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together in a team one day.

"The jokes go both ways; I also told Josh that he should come back to Bayern.

"But you shouldn't take that too seriously. I am very happy happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals with the club and the national team.

"I don't think too much about where I will be playing in five years."
