An old tweet from Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville about David Coote has resurfaced after the Premier League referee was suspended by the PGMOL on Monday.
A video went viral on social media on Monday showing Premier League referee Coote appearing to make shocking comments about Liverpool and former manager Jurgen Klopp.
Reacting to the clip, the PGMOL announced that it has launched a full investigation into the video and that Coote had been suspended with 'immediate effect'.

And in the wake of the news, a Twitter post from Neville from four years ago about Coote has re-surfaced.
During the 2020/21 season, Coote was the VAR on duty for the controversial 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park that saw Jordan Pickford escape a red card for a challenge on Virgil van Dijk that left him sidelined for nine months with an ACL injury.
Following outrage at the moment, Sky Sports announced that Coote would be taken off VAR Liverpool's following Premier League game against Leicester City.

Responding to the announcement on social media, pundit and former Manchester United player Neville wrote: "Strange. Why?"
Also in the Everton match, Coote controversially disallowed what would have been a winning goal from Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson as forward Sadio Mane was deemed to be in an offside position.
Following the game, tensions between the referee and Liverpool fans remained at a high, with Klopp often speaking out about his feelings toward Coote.

And these sentiments have only gotten worse after the video that appears to show him making disparaging comments about Liverpool and Klopp emerged on Monday.
The man alleged to be Coote calls Liverpool "s***" and Klopp a "c***" in an X-rated rant in the leaked video.
Pressed further for his views on Klopp, the man states: "[Klopp is a] c***, absolute c***.
"Aside from having a right pop at me when I was refereeing them against Burnley in lockdown, he accused me of lying and then had a right f****** pop of me.

"I have no interest in speaking to someone who is f****** arrogant. So I do my best not to speak to him."
