Erik ten Hag's initial reaction to being sacked as Manchester United manager has been revealed by a new report.
Ten Hag left United on Monday morning after over two in years in charge.
During that time, he won an FA Cup and Carabao Cup and also guided United to third place in his first season in charge.

But he oversaw the club's worst start to a Premier League season since 1989 this term, as well as three consecutive draws in the Europa League group stage.
That followed on from a disappointing seventh-placed finish in the league last term, with United deciding to act after Sunday's dramatic 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
Assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy will oversee the first team squad on an interim basis, with United in discussions over the permanent appointment of Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim.

Now, a report from The Athletic has revealed how Ten Hag was informed of his sacking - and what his reaction was.
It is claimed that chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Dan Ashworth contacted Ten Hag to deliver the news of his sacking, rather than a member of the Glazer family or minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
It is said that he took the news and responded in a 'dignified manner', before taking a private jet home to the Netherlands on Monday afternoon.
The report adds that Ten Hag had already started preparing for Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash against Leicester on Wednesday evening.

That match will now be taken by Van Nistelrooy, who also appears set to also be in charge for Sunday's Premier League clash against Chelsea and even Thursday's Europa League fixture against PAOK.
United have triggered Amorim's release clause, but will need to gain international clearance and a work permit for the Portuguese boss before he can take charge in the Premier League.
