Fernandes and Rice enjoyed stellar campaigns for their respective clubs last season as they starred for Manchester United and West Ham United respectively.
The Portuguese maestro will be hoping for another prolific term at Old Trafford next season, while the England international is closing in on a switch to Arsenal.

It could have been a very different situation as the Red Devils also expressed an interest in signing Rice from West Ham.
Had he moved to Man United, then Erik ten Hag would've boasted Fernandes and Rice in the middle of the park.
They might not be teammates, but Fernandes and Rice spent time together in Portugal as enjoy some downtime ahead of returning to their respective clubs for pre-season.
A video shows Fernandes hitting a spectacular volley, wowing Rice, who is seen joking around with the Man United superstar.
Naturally, the link-up between Fernandes and Rice sent social media wild.

AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Manchester City's Joao Cancelo, who spent time at Bayern Munich last season, also trained with Fernandes and Rice in Portugal.
It appears unlikely Fernandes and Rice will be club colleagues next season as the Gunners have reached an agreement with the Hammers.
