Amad Diallo proved the key player for Manchester United in their derby day victory over Manchester City and now a bold prediction made by a Sky Sports journalist following his transfer to Old Trafford has resurfaced.
Amad proved the decisive factor as United came from behind to stun City 2-1 late on at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
City had taken the lead through Josko Gvardiol's header but Amad won a penalty as full-time neared after being brought down by Matheus Nunes, which Bruno Fernandes coolly converted.

But as the spoils looked to be shared, the Ivorian netted a dramatic late winner after controlling Lisandro Martinez's long pass, expertly rounding Ederson and slotting home from an acute angle to write his name in Manchester derby folklore.
Amad moved to United at the start of 2021 from Italian side Atalanta on an initial reported transfer fee of €25 million, which could eventually rise to €40 million with bonuses and add-ons.
The 22-year-old has had to bide his time for a sustained run in United's first team and has been out on loan twice, with many fans questioning why former manager Erik ten Hag did not unleash the youngster sooner.

A half-season was spent at Rangers in 2022 which yielded three goals in 13 games, before the 2022/23 campaign was spent in the Championship with Sunderland where he scored 14 goals in 42 matches.
Amad has belatedly forced his way into the United first team and appears set to play a key role at Old Trafford under new boss Ruben Amorim.
Overall at United, Amad has seven goals in 44 games and his deal runs out at the end of the current season, though there is an option for a further 12 months and talks are reportedly progressing over a new contract.

Back in October 2020, in was confirmed that Amad had agreed to join United from Atalanta in January 2021.
And at that time, Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam made a bold prediction about the attacker which has now resurfaced and appears to be coming true, praising United and then much-maligned chief executive Ed Woodward for getting the deal done for what he described as a 'future superstar'.
McAdam said: "I don't think you're ever going to see this on TV and I don't think you'll probably see it again - Manchester United, Ed Woodward, take a bow, you have signed a future superstar.
"I'm going to put a lot of pressure on the lad but I think this is one player Manchester United fans and fans of football across the world can get excited about.

"He is a huge, huge talent and I don't want to downplay this. He's a young lad and he's got a lot to go in terms of the future, but what an opportunity he has and what a signing this could be by Manchester United.
"He comes out of the famous Atalanta academy where they've been producing players for Italian football and world football for in excess of 30 or 40 years.
"It's one of the best run football clubs in Italian football. They have an incredible set-up and they are renowned for producing young talented players and this is the latest player.

"He is quite simply a wonderkid that will be on the tips of everyone's tongues for many, many years to come."
After his performance against City, it is hard to argue with any of that.
