Amad Diallo aims dig at Erik ten Hag when speaking about Ruben Amorim's impact at Man Utd

Amad Diallo aims dig at Erik ten Hag when speaking about Ruben Amorim's impact at Man Utd

Amad Diallo seemed to aim a dig at Erik ten Hag.

Amad Diallo aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Erik ten Hag when praising Ruben Amorim following his appointment at Manchester United.

Amad has chipped in with five goals and seven assists since Amorim replaced Ten Hag.

The budding winger, who joined the Old Trafford outfit for £37 million in January 2021, struggled for game-time under Ten Hag, who barely played him during his tenure.

An ex-Man United coach, who worked under the Dutchman, explained why the youngster was often overlooked.

But Amad is flourishing under Amorim's managerial tutelage and has established himself as a first-team regular.

The 22-year-old was asked to explain the difference between this campaign and last season from an individual aspect.

He appeared to aim a dig at Ten Hag as he highlighted his 'confidence' under the current regime.

"Yeah, let’s say maybe it’s confidence because now I’m playing a lot of games. Like I am now, I’ve been every time like this but maybe the game time and confidence," he told SuperSport.

"But now I’m happy to play more games and I just want to fight for the club, for the team, every time the manager gives me the confidence and gives me the chance to play for this club, I just want to show I can play for this club."

The Ivorian added: "My dream is achieve a lot of things with this club, that’s why I’m here.

"I want to fight for this badge and let’s see what the future brings."

Amad was sent out on loan to Rangers then Sunderland during Ten Hag's time at Man United.

His time in a Red Devils shirt was restricted until Amorim's arrival.

Amad has already made 26 appearances in all competitions this season and is poised to play a key role under the Portuguese coach moving forward.
