Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has aimed a cheeky dig at Manchester United as he reacted to the news of Omar Berrada’s appointment.
Last week, it was reported that United would appoint Berrada as the club’s new CEO as new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe begins to shake up the club’s hierarchy.
The news came as a shock to many as Berrada was an integral part of City’s recent success, having been the Blues’ chief football operations officer before leaving the club.

Speaking ahead of City’s FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur, Guardiola appeared to aim a cheeky dig at United as he reacted to Berrada’s departure. You can watch the footage below.
He told reporters: “I don’t know if, by doing this, everything is going to be sorted and it works.
“Maybe United think that with this person, everything is going to change — congratulations. If it does happen, then my God, they have to make a stand for Omar Berrada in the future because he’d deserve it.”

Guardiola continued: “Kevin De Bruyne is still at Man City, Erling Haaland will keep playing here, so it’s not that simple like that.
“Obviously Omar’s knowledge goes to United, that’s the reality. The club will move forward. We will adapt. I saw him yesterday, we hugged. I wish him the best because he’s a fantastic person.”
It has been a tough season so far for United as Erik ten Hag has struggled to bring the best out of the players he has at his disposal.
