The concerning reason why Pep Guardiola appeared to be covered in scratches after Manchester City's 3-3 draw with Feyenoord has been revealed.
On Tuesday night, the Champions League returned as several of the best teams in Europe faced off for a vital three points.
In the biggest shock of the evening, Manchester City drew 3-3 with Dutch side Feyenoord at the Etihad despite leading the match 3-0 in the 75th minute.

After the match, City manager Guardiola was spotted with scratches all over his face, and now he has explained why,
While speaking in the post-match press conference, Guardiola was asked what caused the clear scratches on his nose and head.
"Yeah, my finger here. My nail. I want to harm myself," responded the City boss.

Having lost five successive games going into Tuesday's fixture, the pressure was on City to get back to winning ways and remind the world how formidable they are.
And initially, it looked like they were going to do just that as two goals from star striker Erling Haaland and one from club legend Ilkay Gundogan put them 3-0 before the hour mark.
However, in a stressful fifteen minute period for Guardiola, City surrendered their lead as a 75th minute goal from Feyenoord striker Anis Hadj-Moussa was followed by goals from Santiago Gimenez and David Hancko in the 82nd and 89th minutes respectively.
“We are not stable. We give them the first and the other ones so that’s why it’s difficult,” Guardiola told Amazon Prime Sport.

“We’ve lost a lot of games lately. We are fragile and we needed a victory.
“The game was good for the confidence. We played at a good level but something happened and then we had problems.
“I don’t know if it’s mental. The first goal cannot happen and the second as well.

“We are desperate to win and do well but we don’t win games.
“The situation is what it is.”
For their next fixture, City travel to Anfield for a top of the table Premier League clash against long-term rivals Liverpool.
Should they lose to Liverpool, the defending champions would fall an incredible 11 points behind the league leaders with just 13 matches played.
