Manchester City are reportedly prepared to take a huge loss on Kalvin Phillips as his nightmare period continues.
Phillips signed for City in the summer of 2022 for an initial fee of £42 million, penning a six-year contract.
However the England international suffered a shoulder injury early on and could not find his feet.

He was part of the side which won the treble under Pep Guardiola but played just 290 minutes in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old continued to struggle for game-time this season and so was loaned out to West Ham in January.
However Phillips' form has not improved and after a recent card, his latest costly mistake saw him give away a penalty in the 4-3 defeat to Newcastle.

He had been brought on with his side leading 3-1 at St James' Park and was involved in a X-rated moment after receiving criticism as he hopped onto the team bus.
Phillips looks to have lost his place in the England squad as a result of a dire run of form and he seemingly has no future at the Etihad Stadium.
According to the Daily Mail, City are now willing to offload Phillips for a lot less than what they paid for him.

With his value dropping substantially, the Premier League champions are happy to sell Phillips for a reduced fee of £30 million.
That is despite the midfielder still having a contract with City until 2028.
The update could be music to the ears of Leeds United, who are reportedly keen on bringing him back to Elland Road should they achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Phillips racked up over 234 appearances for his boyhood club prior to his departure, including 49 in the top flight.
A 3-1 win over Hull City on Tuesday means Daniel Farke's side are second in the Championship on 86 points, a point ahead of Leicester City and a point behind Ipswich Town.
