Pep Guardiola has already explained what he will do if Manchester City are found guilty over their alleged 115 FFP charges.

Following a four-year investigation, City were charged with alleged rule breaches over a period of 14 years back in February 2023.

The Premier League champions are accused of not providing the accurate financial information when it comes to club revenue, sponsorship revenue and operating costs.

The charges have been treated like the elephant in the room and initially a hearing was not set to take place until November.

However, ESPN now say it is now slated to start on September 16 pending any further delays or complications.

Having been brought forward, City could face potential relegation from the Premier League if they are found guilty.

That would cast huge doubts over the future of Guardiola, whose contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season.

But the Catalan has gone on record to say a negative outcome for City will not prompt him to leave.

"At the moment we are innocent until it is proved we are guilty," Guardiola said last year in a press conference.

"I know the people want it. I know, I feel it. I will wait. Wait and see it and after the sentence has been done we will come here and explain it.

"But absolutely I will not consider my future (if) it depends being here or being in League One. Absolutely. There is more chance to stay if we are in League One than if we were in the Champions League."

A verdict on the separate case between City and the Premier League over associated party transactions (APT) rules is expected in the coming weeks and The Times say there is belief the club have achieved "some successes in the arbitration hearing".

The FFP case is expected to last for around two months, with an outcome coming in 2025 before the end of the season.

City say have "irrefutable evidence" to prove their innocence and chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak, managing director Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain have assured Guardiola that they will be cleared.
