Joe Hart has already landed new job weeks before his retirement from football

Hart will retire from football at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has landed a new job - weeks before his retirement from professional football.

Hart confirmed earlier this year that he would retire at current club Celtic once the 2023/24 season comes to a close.

He is best known within English football for his 11-year spell at Manchester City, where he won two Premier League titles in 2012 and 2014 as the club's first-choice goalkeeper.

The 37-year-old left City on loan in 2016 following the arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager, before departing permanently to join Burnley two years later.

After a spell at Tottenham, Hart joined Celtic in 2021 as first-choice goalkeeper, and has won five trophies.

Hart will win the Scottish Premiership for a third time if Brendan Rodgers' side win two points from their last two games.

He also collected 75 caps for the England national team - and will take that experience into his next role.

The Daily Mail have reported that the former City shot-stopper has been signed by the BBC as a pundit for their Euro 2024 coverage this summer.

It is also claimed that Premier League Productions are interested in hiring him to work on English top-flight games next season.

And he has also spoken with former club City about expanding his current ambassador role, which would see him become one of their 'special envoys representing the club on trips across the globe'.

Hart was one of City's final signings before the club's takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, having joined from League Two side Shrewsbury Town - where he was a youth academy graduate - in 2006.

When it comes to international football, Hart was England's starting goalkeeper at Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup, while he was also selected in the 2010 World Cup squad under Fabio Capello but did not play.

He also played at Euro 2016, which would prove to be his last international tournament as he was dropped by the Three Lions months later after his City demotion and subsequent loan move to Italian Serie A side Torino.

Hart is a late addition to the BBC roster for Euro 2024, with the corporation having already announced its provisional list of pundits and presenters.

Gary Lineker, Gabby Logan, Mark Chapman and Alex Scott will share presenting duties, with a pundit list that includes Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and Rio Ferdinand.
