Jamie Carragher has warned Trent Alexander-Arnold about the difficulties he may face should he complete a transfer to Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold has entered the final year of his Anfield deal, sparking rumours the England international could leave Liverpool for pastures new next summer.
European champions Real Madrid are widely thought to be among the main contenders to sign the full-back, who has struck up a close bond with England colleague and Los Blancos star Jude Bellingham.

Yet, a move to Real Madrid wouldn’t be seamless, according to ex-Liverpool defender Carragher.
Indeed, the Sky Sports pundit insisted that legendary right-back Dani Carvajal would not give up his spot easily in the starting XI at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Speaking about Alexander-Arnold's situation on Sky Sports, Carragher said: "I think Carvajal would have something to say about it as well, with people talking about Trent.
“He’s only won the European Cup six times and the Euros in the summer, so I don’t think he’d be too happy about it."

On the subject of the England star staying or leaving, Carragher added: "It’s a case of: ‘What do you want for the rest of your life?’
“He’s in the dream position as a footballer – 25 years of age, one year left on your contract, he could see how this year goes, he can wait until Christmas, I’m sure there will already be some dialogue with other clubs, let’s be honest, that’s how it works.
“It will be interesting how it plays out."
Beyond Alexander-Arnold, both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also set to see their Liverpool contracts expire next summer.

On the matter Liverpool manager Arne Slot told Carragher: "The only thing I can do is get the best out of them.
"If we bring the best out of them and they perform really well then it's up to them if they want to sign and us if we give them a new contract.
“The main thing for all of them, if you're out of contract or not, is to get the best performance as possible and there is where I should and will help them with my staff, to bring out the best of them. Until now it's been nothing but positive.

"Mo came back really strong in terms of physique, Virgil as well, Trent did the same and they brought in good performances against Ipswich which was only the first game. My main focus is on Brentford and not on contract extensions."
