Liverpool fans are fuming after finding out which player club bosses are prepared to leave this summer.

Arne Slot is preparing for his first season in charge at Anfield, but so far this summer there have been no additions to his squad.

Liverpool looked set to sign holding midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, with the Premier League giants prepared to trigger the player's £51.7 million buy-out clause.

However, after the Spain international asked for time to think about his future, La Real persuaded him to stay in San Sebastian with an improved contract.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool have no alternative targets as Zubimendi was seen as the perfect player to play the No.6 role in Slot's side.

With Zubimendi out of the picture, Liverpool are left with limited holding midfield options.

Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo filled the role last season, but the former offers more in a more advanced position while the latter has struggled to adapt to Slot's possession-based system during pre-season.

Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai are in the same boat as Mac Allister, while Ryan Gravenberch has potential but is far from the finished article.

Stefan Bajcetic is another option, but Liverpool fans have been left dismayed by reports that the club are prepared to let him leave this summer.

The Athletic have reported that Liverpool bosses are prepared to sanction a loan move for the 19-year-old midfielder, as they want him to get regular minutes after missing most of last season through injury.

Bajcetic, who joined Liverpool's youth set-up from Celta Vigo in 2020, played just 25 minutes of Premier League football last term.

His departure would follow the sale of fellow young midfielder Fabio Carvalho, who completed a £22.5 million move to Brentford.

Liverpool fans on social media have made it clear that they want Bajcetic to stay and contribute to the first team.

"This makes no sense without a defensive midfielder coming in," one fan wrote on X.

Another argued: "We have Endo as our best DM, Endo? Are we a joke? I get that we shouldn’t buy any DM for the sake of it but getting rid of our options is just ridiculous."

"More exits, still no entries. We are Cooked FC," another disgruntled supporter wrote, while a fourth fans commented: "Wow. He will literally get game time here now Zubimendi ain’t coming."
