Liverpool supporters think that Mohamed Salah must have signed a new contract after seeing what one of his teammates did during the Champions League clash with Lille.

On Tuesday night, Liverpool confirmed their place in the Champions League round of 16 with a 2-1 victory French side Lille at Anfield.

Star player Salah was named the player of the match at full-time, with the winger scoring Liverpool's opener and playing a key part in their attacking threat throughout the game.

During the match, fans noticed how one player celebrating Salah's goal, and they're convinced it proves that the Egyptian has signed a new contract with the club.

As it stands, Salah's contract with Liverpool is set to expire in the summer, ending his highly successful eight-year spell at the club.

But after spotting Curtis Jones' reaction to his goal on Tuesday, Liverpool fans are convinced that he will stay at Anfield for years to come.

Jones provided the assist for Salah's goal and immediately ran up to his teammate and, while embracing him in front of Liverpool fans, he pointed to the Egyptian and then to the Anfield pitch.

Reacting to the clip, one fan wrote: "What’s Jones trying to tell us??"

With one replying: "Salah is staying that what he’s saying."

And another wrote: "He is saying Mohamed Salah isn't leaving, contract news incoming!"

However, some fans suggested that Jones could be attempting to make amends for his controversial comments during an interview with Rio Ferdinand on Monday.

While speaking to the Manchester United legend, Jones admitted that he thought that Chelsea great Eden Hazard was a better player than Salah, angering Liverpool fans.

Therefore, his reaction on Tuesday could have been him showing the fans that he's aware of how important Salah is to the club and that he regrets his previous comments.

Salah drops hint about his future after Champions League win

Jones wasn't the only man who dropped a potential hint about Salah's future following the match against Lille on Tuesday, as the man himself may have suggested that he is set to stay in his post-match interview.

After scoring the opening goal in the game, Salah became the first Liverpool player to score 50 goals in Europe - nine goals clear of club legend Steven Gerrard.

Speaking about the record on Amazon Prime, he said: "Hopefully not the last one but I'm very proud of it. I wasn't focused on it before the game."

And when he was asked if he will stay at Liverpool to add to his impressive tally, Salah potentially dropped a hint about his plans, responding: 'I'm not sure about that but I'll give it my best.'
