Arne Slot's dream Liverpool transfer delivers huge blow and says he won't be joining the club while on camera

Arne Slot's dream Liverpool transfer delivers huge blow and says he won't be joining the club while on camera

Bad news for Arne Slot.

One of Arne Slot's key transfer targets has stated that he will not join Liverpool while speaking on camera.

Liverpool are yet to complete a signing in January to add to the two players they brought in during the summer transfer window.

Federico Chiesa signed for the club from Juventus for a fee of £12.5 million and is now beginning to find form at Anfield after injury struggles.

Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, meanwhile, is spending the rest of the season on loan at Valencia after signing for Liverpool for a fee of £25 million plus £4 million in add-ons.

The prospect of new additions in January appears unlikely, with Liverpool's main focus set to be on attempting to extend the contracts of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

But a potential signing for Slot's side has appeared to completely rule himself out of joining the Reds.

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez recently held a YouTube live stream, with Anfield Watch reporting that he received several comments from Liverpool fans asking him to sign for the club.

The Hungary international, 21, has been one of the top full-backs in the Premier League this season with his attacking output particularly praised.

He has been linked with a move to Anfield for a number of months as a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

But in the live stream, Kerkez read out the pleas from fans before replying: "Yes, yes. I will not go to Liverpool. For everybody listening, I will not go to Liverpool."

The Hungarian's full focus will be on the rest of the season with Bournemouth, who are currently in sixth place in the table after an impressive run under manager Andoni Iraola.

The Cherries are on a 10-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League that dates back to November, including a 4-1 win at Newcastle last Saturday which they had to achieve without a natural striker in the starting XI due to injuries.

Whether Kerkez changes his mind in the summer remains to be seen, but for now it is clear where his loyalties lie.
