Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet snubbed Luis Suarez when naming the best finisher he played with.
Suarez is one of the most talented players to ever play for Liverpool, having registered an astonishing 31 goals in 33 appearances in his final season on Merseyside.
That tally included hat-tricks against West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City as well as four goals against Norwich.

But according to Mignolet, the best finisher he'd played with was Suarez’s Liverpool strike partner Daniel Sturridge.
The season 2013/14 campaign in which Suarez won the Premier League Golden Boot also saw Sturridge register 22 goals and seven assists in his 29 appearances
“[Daniel Sturridge] was such a good finisher,” Mignolet explained on Fozcast – The Ben Foster Podcast. “It wasn't luck. In training you could see it all the time.

“If he was fit, and the ball was in the right place for him [he’d score].
“He’s actually the best goalscorer or finisher I ever played with. It’s unbelievable how easily he could find the net.”
Elsewhere, Mignolet labelled Steven Gerrard as the greatest player he’d ever played alongside.
He said: “In all fairness, the moment in time [they played together] he was probably not at his best level anymore but of course what he achieved in his whole life, yeah, definitely.

“You can’t speak more highly of a guy. Not only a player because it was also off the pitch that he was such a role model for the club and everybody who was there at the club.
“To be a player in his dressing room you learn so much."
Mignolet added: "Not only as a football player but also as a person. The way he was with every single individual on the pitch, off the pitch, it’s a credit to the person himself.”
