Liverpool fans worried about one player after his display against Girona

Liverpool fans fumed at the same player despite beating Girona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Reds made it six wins from six to remain at the top of the Champions League thanks to Mo Salah's second half penalty as Arne Slot's side showed no signs of slowing down.

The Premier League leaders are one of the favourites for the competition after incredible wins over Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen at Anfield.

It was a narrow, hard-fought victory in Catalonia but there was one major disappointment for the Liverpool faithful.

Striker Darwin Nunez was once again below par up top, regularly fluffing his lines and leaving supporters frustrated as they watched. The Uruguayan is now in his third season but is still yet to show he is capable of leading the line and being a prolific goalscorer.

And after his latest showing, fans cannot wait for Diogo Jota to be back in the side up after his injury.

Liverpool return to Premier League action at the weekend when they host Fulham. Though the Merseyside derby with Everton last weekend was called off due to Storm Darragh, Liverpool are still four points clear at the top of the table after Arsenal drew with Fulham and Chelsea beat Spurs.
