Former Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has revealed what he knows about the discussions regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts.
Moore, 69, was the Reds’ CEO between 2017 and 2020, and his work coincided with Jurgen Klopp’s Champions League and Premier League winning success – in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Several of the players involved in the triumphs are still at the club, with Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk’s futures still unclear.

All three players are set to see their contracts expire at the end of the season, with Moore’s fellow Liverpudlian Alexander-Arnold heavily linked with a move to La Liga outfit Real Madrid, with fans giving their thoughts on the situation earlier this week.
The former Liverpool chief was no stranger to dealing with these types of situations during his tenure at Anfield, and he explained what he knew about the situation.

“If it's Trent [Alexander-Arnold], it's Virgil [van Dijk], it's Mo [Salah].
"It's hard to imagine any of those leaving Liverpool.
"Ownership, I know, is working feverishly to get deals done, whether it is all three, two of the three, one of the three or none of the three.
“I don't know, but you look at those players, and what you do like is that they all seem very dedicated right now. There is no - particularly with those three - taking a game off for some reason.

“Even in Trent's case, they are the senior citizens.
"You think about what they offer, and come January, in particular in Trent's case, we will see what happens. But I know ownership is talking with their respective agents - I'm sure feverishly.”
In October, Van Dijk admitted that discussions between his representatives and the football club were ongoing but also explained how he had “no idea” what the future holds when speaking to The Athletic.

As for Salah, he has previously been the subject of a £150m bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, which Liverpool rejected in August of 2023.
All three players will be free to discuss pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs when the transfer window opens on January 1 2025.
