Liverpool have seemed a damning verdict from their Premier League rivals, after their Anfield atmosphere was voted the most overrated in the top flight.
The Reds have recently constructed a new upper stand within their stadium, which has since opened to 7000 fans for Sunday's clash against Manchester United.
However, former United defender Gary Neville has given a brutal verdict on the impact of the new changes, while covering the game for Sky Sports.

“This is worst atmosphere is seen from a Manchester United, Liverpool game," he said. "It’s never been as quiet is the worse atmosphere i’ve seen at Anfield”
The £80 million upgrade is yet to take full effect, with the capacity currently sat at around 57,000, despite initial plans outlining aims of increasing the number past 60,000 in the future,
“It’s been really challenging,” said Paul Cuttill, vice-president of Stadium Operations regarding the stadium setbacks.

“Being able to bring in people earlier has been a massive benefit to us, but we won’t know the true nature of the costs until we have got a proper programme in place towards the end of the season.”
Despite the setbacks, which have largely occurred due to the contractors Buckingham Group going into administration, Liverpool will be hoping the upgrades can lead to an improvement in the atmosphere in the stadium when they are able to open the doors to a full crowd.
They are changes that likely needed to be made at the club, after fans had previously agreed with Neville, and added that the atmosphere on Merseyside was one of the most overrated in the Premier League.

In a poll conducted last year, 44.5% of fans believed that Anfield was home to the most overrated atmosphere in the top flight of English football, with United's Old Trafford in second place.
