Journalist and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was quick to wind up Liverpool fans on social media shortly after their 2-2 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
In the last derby match at Goodison Park, the city rivals went toe-to-toe in a dramatic affair which ultimately ended in controversy.
Everton got off to a dream start when Beto, 27, latched onto Jarrad Branthwaite’s free-kick before he finished calmly past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
However, the home side’s joy was short-lived when Arne Slot’s team equalised through Alexis Mac Allister’s header just five minutes later.

Then, on 73 minutes, Mohamed Salah put the Reds ahead with a sharp finish past Jordan Pickford. But it was Everton who had the last laugh in the dying embers of the game.
On 98 minutes, James Tarkowski smashed a volley into the roof of the net in front of a raucous Gwladys Street End before bedlam ensued. Fans spilled over onto the pitch during the celebrations.
Shortly after, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were sent off by referee Michael Oliver after the Mali international taunted the away fans to the dismay of Jones, 24, who charged towards him before the pair became embroiled in a tussle.

But the drama did not stop there as Slot, 46, and his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, were given their marching orders.
Several Liverpool players were dubbed ‘salty’ by fans on social media, and what Morgan, 59, posted on X will have no doubt added to their frustrations.
The broadcaster and staunch Arsenal fan posted a photograph of Oliver, 39, to his X account accompanied by a caption which read: “My hero.”
A Liverpool win would’ve seen the Reds go nine points clear of the Gunners at the top of the Premier League, but the draw means Slot's side are seven points ahead of Arteta's men heading into gameweek 25.

Fans were quick to give their thoughts in the comments section.
One said: "For him to actually be your hero, he would have had to give a penalty to Everton when the crowd complained of a handball by Konate.
"He didn’t. And we gained a point — which has us seven points clear of Arsenal."
Another added: "Corruption to keep Arsenal in the title race."

While a third commented: "He's always MOTM whenever he's officiating."
As a fourth explained: "Centre stage as always... Michael Oliver."
