Bayer Leverkusen fans have taken to social media to question the atmosphere generated by Liverpool fans in their Champions League clash at Anfield.
Ex-Liverpool star Xabi Alonso was reunited with his former club on Tuesday night when his side Leverkusen visited Anfield.
But it became an evening he'll want to quickly forget, as Liverpool claimed an impressive 4-0 win over the defending Bundesliga champions.

Luis Diaz scored a superb hat-trick while Cody Gakpo also got on the scoresheet for Arne Slot's rampant Reds, who are now top of the Champions League table with four wins from four.
Speaking after the match, former Liverpool midfielder Alonso commented on the atmosphere at Anfield.
"We can explain many things, but to control this atmosphere that's created, I know the Liverpool players feel it," he said.
"That's an extra boost that they feel, that 'OK, now is the moment, now they are behind us and now we go'. To defend in those moments is not easy, we have tried to prepare before the game so we were ready for that, but in the end it's difficult."

However, not all visitors were impressed with their visit to the stadium.
In a post which has gone viral on X, one Leverkusen fan bizarrely claimed that the crowd noise had been boosted by loudspeakers placed around the ground.
"The atmosphere in Anfield is 100 per cent amplified by the loudspeakers. Completely unrealistically loud. Extremely embarrassing," the fan posted.

Another German fan replied: "I was wondering the same thing haha. It's absurd how loud it gets. It seems so unnatural."
While a third wrote: "I honestly can't imagine it, they were only loud in certain situations, and then it always got brutally loud when absolutely everyone joined in."
It's not the first time rival fans have accused Liverpool of pumping sound into their stadium, without evidence to back up their claims.
And Reds supporters were quick to mock Leverkusen fans.

"The Germans here, baffled by noise, wondering why it wasn't just a boring muffled drone behind some flags for 90 minutes instead," posted one Liverpool supporter.
"Yes it was quiet until about 50. And then it wasn't. English atmosphere reacts to the pitch. We don't drone on tediously."
While another wrote: "That's a massive compliment tbf he genuinely thinks we had the loudspeakers blasting chants ahahaha wasn't there myself but it must've been loud then."

Liverpool have lost just one of their games this season under new head coach Arne Slot, a narrow 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the league on September 14.
They are currently top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables, with their next match coming at home to Aston Villa on Saturday.
