How much Arne Slot is set to earn on Liverpool ‘mega contract’ compared to Jurgen Klopp

How much Arne Slot is set to earn on Liverpool ‘mega contract’ compared to Jurgen Klopp

Arne Slot has reportedly penned a lucrative contract at Liverpool.

Arne Slot has landed a 'mega' contract at Liverpool following his appointment, according to a Dutch report.

Slot has signed a three-year deal at Anfield and will replace Jurgen Klopp ahead of the 2024/25 season.

He will formally take up the position on June 1 and has already identified four key Liverpool players that he plans to build his team around.

Slot's arrival brings an end to Klopp's legendary spell at Anfield, where he helped them to Premier League and Champions League glory, among other titles.

The Dutchman has big shoes to fill at Liverpool, but he's set to earn a huge amount compared to what he previously earned at Feyenoord.

Since signing a contract extension at Feyenoord last year, he pockets €4-5 million (£3.4-£4.3 million) with bonuses included.

However, at Liverpool, he's set to receive €8 million-per-year (£6.8 million) BEFORE bonuses.

De Telegraaf states: "The Feyenoord coach will be able to earn around €8m [at Liverpool] and he will be able to increase his salary to an even greater height with every national title or cup that he wins."

Klopp was on a €17 million-per-year (£14.5 million) deal at Liverpool.

The German boss joined the Merseyside outfit back in October 2015 and produced managerial heroics during his time in charge.

As mentioned, he won the Champions League in the 2018/19 campaign and the league title in the 2019/20 season.

The 56-year-old also helped the Reds to FA Cup and Carabao Cup success.

Klopp guided Liverpool to a third-placed finish in his final season at Liverpool and bagged the Carabao Cup.

They recorded 82 points - behind champions Manchester City and Arsenal.

Feyenoord under Slot, meanwhile, took home second place in the league and won the KNVB Cup this season.

They registered 84 points and finished behind PSV Eindhoven.
