Liverpool could have the perfect swap deal to convince Newcastle United to part ways with Anthony Gordon.
Liverpool enjoyed a highly competitive season in 2023/24, winning the Carabao Cup and challenging for the Premier League up until the final months.
Meanwhile, after qualifying for the Champions League ahead of Liverpool in the previous season, Newcastle United struggled in 2023/24, finishing 7th in the Premier League.

But amid a season of injuries at the Geordie club, one star emerged as Anthony Gordon announced himself as one of the most exciting young players in England.
With 12 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances for Newcastle, the young winger has attracted attention from across Europe, but Liverpool may have found the perfect deal to secure the first big signing of the Arne Slot era.
Reports have suggested that Eddie Howe is looking to bring a new goalkeeper to Newcastle this summer and therefore, Liverpool could include their number two keeper Caoimhin Kelleher in any potential offers for Gordon.

Current Newcastle keeper Nick Pope missed five months last season due to a shoulder injury and, with Pope being 32 years old, the young Irishman may be an ideal replacement.
Kelleher made 26 appearances for Liverpool in the 2023/24 season, playing the majority of cup games and stepping in for Alisson Becker who spent two months injured.
And the 25-year-old hasn’t ruled out a move this summer as he looks to secure regular game time.
Speaking to The Athletic recently, the Irishman said: "I got the taste for it [playing regularly] and I want to do it all the time. My main ambition is to be a No.1 and it would be great if that happened at Liverpool, but I’m not silly. I know that Ali has been the best goalkeeper in the world for years.

"Whether it’s here at Liverpool or somewhere else, I do feel the next step for me is to be a No 1. I’ve loved being at Liverpool and hopefully there’s more to come. But I feel like I’ve done my years as a No.2. The ambition now is to be a No.1. I am ready and capable.
"There will be some discussions over the coming weeks. The club was busy with the manager leaving and appointing a new one. With all the new staff arriving, those talks will happen.”
However, despite rumours from top transfer journalists like Fabrizio Romano, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool’s interest in Gordon will lead to a bid.

And, with the Merseyside club already boasting a wealth of attacking talents, it is likely that the club would look to sell one of wingers Luis Diaz or Mohamed Salah before making a move for Gordon.
