Argentina legend Lionel Messi has named the Premier League player who produced the best goalkeeping performance he's ever seen, describing the display as "not human".
Most goalkeepers Messi has come up against have been unable to thwart him and back in 2020, Budweiser sent out bottles of beer to 144 different shotstoppers who conceded against him while he was at Barcelona.
Fraser Forster was one of those recipients, having conceded once to him in the 2-1 win over the Blaugrana back in 2012 at Celtic Park.
He was also in goal for the reverse fixture, which ended 2-1 to Barca after Jordi Alba's late goal.

But Forster's heroics in between the sticks made a huge impression on the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, who claimed that he was even a target for the Catalan side at one point.
"The performances of Fraser Forster against us were talked about for a long time," Messi said, as per the Daily Star.
"There was one game in Scotland where he was not human, it is the best goalkeeping performance I have seen."
"When Victor Valdes said he was leaving we even talked about him playing here. I was sure he would end up at Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United."

Messi's only goal past Foster was a consolation strike in the 90th minute and the 35-year old was given the nickname 'The Great Wall of Glasgow' after producing seven saves.
He moved to Southampton from Celtic in 2014 and went on to play 162 times - briefly returning to the Bhoys in 2019/20.
Capped six times by England, Forster joined Spurs in 2022 and has made 21 appearances in all competitions.

On December 6 2023, Forster put pen to paper on a new deal at Spurs that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.
