A 3D simulation shows what a 100m race between footballing icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would look like.
Ronaldo is known to be more of the natural speedster and has, in the past, been offered to go toe-to-toe with Usain Bolt in a track dash.
Comparisons between Messi and the Al-Nassr star have naturally dominated football news over the past decade.

But if the two faced off in the ultimate athletic test, have you ever pondered who would emerge victorious?
Well, fear not, as a simulated race between the two has been produced to settle the score once and for all - based on the fastest top speeds the pair have ran during their illustrious careers.
In a surprise to, well, not many at all, Ronaldo wins on every occasion, even with a head start handed the way of the former Barcelona forward.

The simulation begins with Messi clocking in a time of 11.95 seconds.
Next comes Ronaldo's attempt, with the 39-year-old timed at an impressive 11.15 seconds.
Despite the excitement created by YouTuber MotionAthlete, it does seem unfathomable that the two will ever face off in a foot race.
You can see the footage below.
After moving to Saudi Arabia back in 2022, former Manchester United forward Ronaldo recently admitted the rivalry between the pair is over.

At the peak of their powers, footballing fans would tune in from all over the world to watch their famous battles when facing off against one another in La Liga.
“The rivalry is over,” Ronaldo said in 2023.
“It was good, a healthy rivalry that spectators liked a lot.
"Whoever likes Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t have to hate Messi or vice-versa because they’re both very good.

"They changed the history of football, and they keep on doing it.
“We are respected throughout the world, that’s the most important thing. He makes his way, I make mine, even if we are playing outside Europe.
"He has done well, from what I’ve seen, and so have I. It’s about continuing. The legacy continues. The rivalry, I don’t see things like that.

"I’ve already said, we’ve shared the stage for 15 years and we ended up being, I wouldn’t say friends, because I never dined with him, but we are professional colleagues and we respect each other.”
