Fans are convinced they have found a Lionel Messi 'clone' on TikTok, and the resemblance is truly uncanny.

There are only a few footballers in history who possessed talent impossible for anyone to replicate, and Lionel Messi is one of them.

The Argentinian superstar has a strong case for being the greatest player of all time, and that's before you even consider the fact he's won pretty much every trophy there is to win at both club and international level.

With a record eight Ballon d'Or wins under his belt and a truly unique way of playing the game, nobody can close to imitating Messi.

Well, maybe one man can.

In deepest, darkest depths of TikTok, fans have stumbled across a footballer who appears to be the clone of Messi.

Videos of the man playing small-sided games on concrete pitches have gone viral on the social media platform, due to his physical resemblance to Messi and his playing style.

Donning a 'Messi 30' Paris Saint-Germain jersey, the TikTok shows the man repeatedly weaving in and out of opponents, fooling defenders with drag backs and incredible close control and unexpected bursts of acceleration.

They say that everyone has at least one doppelganger, but this man looks like he must be Messi's long-lost twin.

The only difference between them appears to be their ability in-front of goal; let's just say the real Messi is much more composed when bearing down on the goalkeeper.

Fans couldn't quite believe what they were watching after finding the clip.

"I've actually just seen a guy on TikTok who plays exactly like Messi it's so scary. Like everything is a clone of it," one fan posted on X.

The replies including things like "That might be his twin," and "that must be his son or something."

Others weren't quite as impressed.

"He has watched Messi clips so much that he started moving like him," one person commented, while another described the man as "Messi that stopped downloading at 20%."

Another fan noticed: "He’s got all the mannerisms only thing he’s missing is the head turns."
