Kylian Mbappe’s view on the everpresent Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate has resurfaced after his official Real Madrid unveiling.

Last month, it was officially announced that Mbappe had left Paris Saint Germain to sign for Spanish La Liga giants Madrid.

Upon confirming the move, Mbappe wrote on social media: “A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream, Real Madrid.

“Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can't wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. Hala Madrid!”

On Tuesday, the Frenchman completed his medical ahead of his official unveiling as a Madrid player.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: “Kylian Mbappé medical: completed.”

With fans starting to gather to see their new man, Mbappe’s take on the Messi vs Ronaldo debate has resurfaced.

Back in 2023, Mbappe said: “I love Cristiano and I was a big fan of him when I was young but I start to learn Messi too because when you are a big fan of Cristiano when you are young, you can't see how Messi is good because you love Cristiano.

“But I grew up and I like both now.”

Mbappe also told French media outlet RMC Sport in 2021 that he is better than both players because of his mentality and desire to be the best.

He said: “Every time I go on a pitch I always tell myself that I'm the best and yet I have played on grounds where there was Messi and Cristiano (Ronaldo).

“They are better players than me, they have does a billion more things than me. But in my head I always tell myself that I'm the best because that way you don't give yourself limits and you try to give your best.”
