Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's reaction to getting Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt after Georgia's victory over Portugal

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had a brilliant reaction after securing Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt on the back of Georgia’s famous win over Portugal.

On Wednesday night, the first stage of Euro 2024 came to an end with the final Group F fixtures.

Heading into the match, Georgia knew they had to win in order to progress in the tournament.

With just two minutes on the clock, talisman Kvaratskhelia scored after a mistake by Portugal defender Antonio Silva.

In the second half, with Portugal piling on the pressure, Georgia were given a penalty after a foul by Silva. Georges Mikautadze stepped up and put his country within touching distance of the round of 16.

Eventually, Georgia held on for a famous 2-0 victory, securing a last-16 date with 2008 and 2012 winners Spain.

After the match, footage from inside the Georgia dressing room was posted on social media.

Kvaratskhelia was captured showing off Ronaldo’s shirt as he turned around and pointed to the back of the jersey.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “GOAT confirmed again... We move.”

Another tweeted: “Cristiano Ronaldo goat Yes.”

A third fan added: “Kvaratskhelia wearing Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt after the game, He's is so happy.”

Someone else wrote: “Ronaldo is every footballer’s hero!”

A fifth commented: “He loves it.”

Kvaratskhelia later posted a picture of Ronaldo's shirt on his Instagram story, with a caption that read: "Dreams".

Speaking after the match, Georgia manager Willy Sagnol said: “We didn't even try to know before the match if we would win we would maybe play against this or that team because we don't think like that, we just take things as they come.

“Spain is coming, Spain is probably the best team of the first round so it's another big challenge for us. For sure we're going to fight to the last minute as we have done since the beginning of the competition.”

He added: “It's still difficult to realise what we have done. It will probably happen when we will lose, and when we will go back to our homes and on holidays.

“Today I don't have a lot of words so I will try to stay basic and say that I'm so proud of the players because what an image they have shown of Georgia today... I feel very proud to be their manager.”
