Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala sent an emotional message to childhood friend Jude Bellingham after the Real Madrid midfielder won the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
The award is given to the world's best player under the age of 21, with Bellingham winning it for the first time in his career.
The England international fended off competition from the likes of Pedri, Eduardo Camavinga and Xavi Simons to scoop the award, and paid tribute to his family in his acceptance speech.

"Just wanted to thank everyone who's helped me get to this point, from Birmingham City, to Borussia Dortmund, to Real Madrid, to the England national team.
"But most importantly, my family - my mum and dad here tonight, and my brother back home. Thank you so much for all the support - it means a lot."
His speech was then cut off by the big screen, however, with Musiala - who was runner-up for the award - sending Bellingham a message.
The Germany international couldn't be present in Paris to congratulate Bellingham - the pair played together when they were children - but did send him a video message.

Musiala said: "Due to our upcoming game, I could not make it to Paris tonight but I still wanted to send you congratulations on your achievements. Well deserved.

"We both can remember not long ago we were roommates at England. Now, you're playing for Real Madrid and I'm playing for Bayern - it's crazy when you think about it.
"I hope to see you soon, hope you have a fantastic evening and greetings from Munich."
After joking about his own hairline in an old photo of the pair, Bellingham replied: "He's a great guy, and it's so classy of him to send him a message there and wish me well.
"He knows how much I love him and how much respect I've got for him."
