Jose Mourinho is still among the highest-earning managers in world football but the Portuguese boss has launched a new side business in a $347 billion industry.

Mourinho returned to management in the summer when he took the reins at Fenerbahce, who are are second in the Turkish Super Lig after 19 games.

But the 61-year-old now has another form of income after announcing his latest business venture on Instagram. Mourinho has set up his own wine brand, taking his 'Special One' nickname.

He took to Instagram on Monday to share a video of the new company, explaining the inspiration behind his new firm.

Mourinho captioned it: "As someone who values precision, quality, and excellence in every endeavor, I am proud to present my very own wine; ‘The Special One’. Handpicked from one of my favourite regions in Portugal, this wine reflects the spirit of my homeland and my relentless desire to enjoy every moment in life. Crafted with passion and care, it is a gift from one special one to another.

"Whether you’re celebrating a victory or spending time with people you care about, this wine is meant to be shared with someone truly special."

The post was liked 160,000 times and in the cinematic-like promotional video, Mourinho was his usual charismatic self and couldn't help but repeating his iconic "I prefer not to speak" line from a post-match interview slating former referee Chris Foy many years back.

With the camera focused on his back as he was sat in a chair, before he takes a sip of the vino, Mourinho said: "Finals, I've won them. Leagues, I've conquered them. I've never been one of the bottle. I make the bottle."

"I prefer not to speak. My achievements, my success, my work. They speak for themselves. This is the Special One, now yours to share."

His former Chelsea captain John Terry was excited by the news, commenting: "Two cases please Boss."

According to statista, the wine industry is estimated to be worth $347.1bn and former Manchester City midfielder David Silva has his own product in the Canary Islands.

Former Man United CEO Ed Woodward, who worked with Mourinho, is now a rival as he bought a wine property in Portugal.

In terms of the alcohol industry, Ryan Reynolds, Conor McGregor, Michael Jordan and The Rock have all experienced huge success in the market.

Wrexham co-owner Reynolds sold his Aviation Gin brand for a whopping £466 million in 2020.
