Jose Mourinho has been handed a major blow with one of his prime transfer targets rejecting the chance to join Fenerbahce.
Mourinho is gearing up for his first season in charge of Turkish side Fenerbahce, the latest in a long list of huge clubs that he has managed.
The 61-year-old left Serie A side Roma in January, after winning the Europa Conference League final with them in 2021-22 and guiding them to the Europa League final the following year.

Mourinho is now trying to tempt some of the biggest names in European football to join him in Istanbul, but it appears his charm offensive has failed to convince one star attacker.
The 'Special One' wanted to add Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman to his squad, with Fenerbahce talking to both club and player.
However, the France international - who featured in just 15 minutes of his nation's Euro 2024 campaign - has rejected Fenerbahce's advances in recent days.

That's according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reported that the 28-year-old has "other plans".
Bayern, preparing for their first season with Vincent Kompany at the helm, are said to be open to selling Coman.
With the winger's contract valid until 2027, the Bundesliga giants should be able to command a decent fee for the former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus man.
In fact, Plettenberg has reported that Bayern are eyeing up 19-year-old Rennes winger Desire Doue as Coman's replacement.

This summer Fenerbahce have made permanent the loan signings of defender Caglar Soyuncu and midfielder Rade Krunic, and have brought in former Everton striker Cenk Tosun on a free transfer from cross-town rivals Besiktas.
Fenerbahce have been linked with ambitious moves for the likes of former Newcastle attacker Allan Saint-Maximin and Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, but so far they haven't pulled off any transfers of such magnitude.
