Former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has scored a stunning goal from inside his own half for Turkish Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor.
Shelvey joined the Turkish club on loan from Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the season, having had a disappointing six-month spell at the City Ground.
Having been handed the number six shirt, the 31-year-old midfielder has started all six of his side's previous games in league and cup.

And in the fifth minute of Rizespor's clash at home to Istanbulspor, Shelvey netted an instant goal of the season contender.
Picking the ball up from inside his own half, the midfielder rolled the ball forward before striking an inch-perfect effort that went over goalkeeper David Jensen's head and into the net, without bouncing.
You can see the goal below.
The incredible strike was Shelvey's first goal for his new club. Remarkably, it was his first league goal for any side since January 2022, when he scored for Newcastle in a 1-0 win over Leeds.

Rizespor managed to hold on to a 1-0 win, which lifts them up to 10th place in the Turkish Super Lig table.
Despite his heroics, it is unclear whether the midfielder will have a future at Forest upon his anticipated return to the City Ground at the end of the season.
He was dropped from the squad for games against Liverpool and Brighton last season, and had a disagreement with manager Steve Cooper which resulted in him not making the trip at all for the latter fixture.
Cooper played down the incident, though, before Shelvey missed the rest of the season through injury.

Forest are his fourth Premier League club, with the 31-year-old coming through Liverpool's youth academy before spells at Swansea and Newcastle. He won six caps for England between 2012 and 2015.
