Joao Felix's shock favourite English club revealed with Chelsea in talks to re-sign Atletico Madrid star

Joao Felix's shock favourite English club revealed with Chelsea in talks to re-sign Atletico Madrid star

Joao Felix has been linked with a return to Chelsea.

Joao Felix has revealed his favourite English club amid reports linking him with a return to the Premier League.

On Sunday, it was claimed that Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are discussing about a potential transfer involving Felix.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: “EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are now discussing João Félix to #CFC as part of Gallagher deal! Samu Omorodion deal collapsing and the two clubs don’t want Gallagher and Julián Álvarez deals to collapse too…

“João Félix, being discussed with Jorge Mendes in London.”

Felix previously played for the Stamford Bridge club back in the 22/23 season when he joined on loan in January.

During his time as a Chelsea player, the 24-year-old made 20 appearances and scored four goals across all competitions.

Back in 2022, it was revealed in an interview with Adri Contreras, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, that Felix is a supporter of Leeds United.

It's unclear what his connection to Leeds is, if any, but it is unlikely that he will seek a move to Elland Road, with the Yorkshire-based club currently in the Championship.

In terms of outgoings, Chelsea are likely to part ways with several players in the coming weeks.

Romano added: “Chelsea will also work on outgoings in the next days. Lukaku expected to join Napoli, Raheem Sterling can leave if João Félix returns.

“As revealed, Noni Madueke one to watch in case of good bids with Newcastle interested. Diego Moreira considering Strasbourg loan.”

Chelsea will kick off their 24/25 Premier League campaign by hosting champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking about the new season, winger Raheem Sterling said: “He(Enzo Maresca)’s come in and stamped his authority with the way he wants to play.

“Yes, some of the results haven’t been pleasing to the eye, but with the ball the right information is getting passed on. You can see the patterns that are coming through. It’s early days but you can definitely see where we are looking to go and the way we are trying to play.”
