Liverpool and Manchester United wonderkids feature on the shortlist of 100 nominees for the 2023 Golden Boy award.
There are a number of nominees from the Premier League, with Chelsea, Brighton and Manchester City starlets also included.
The award recognises the best footballer under the age of 21 in any one of Europe's top flight leagues, and was established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003.

Only players born on or after January 1, 2003, are included, meaning that any player who turns 21 during 2023 is not eligible as a result.
Past winners of the award are largely a who's who of footballing icons, with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas among those to lift the top prize in its early years.
More recent winners of the award include Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Pedri and Gavi.
Gavi was named as the Golden Boy of 2022, and is once again nominated as he looks to become the first player in the history of the award to win it twice.

But he will certainly have strong competition.

As pmong the top talents that are nominated for 2023 include Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham, Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and Barcelona's Alejandro Balde.
New Real signing Arda Guler is also on the shortlist for his performances with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Out of the 10 Premier League players included, two play for Liverpool. They are midfield duo Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic.
Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho, meanwhile, is also included, alongside key transfer target Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta.
Manchester City's Rico Lewis and Maximo Perrone are on the list, as well as the Brighton trio of Evan Ferguson, Julio Enciso and Facundo Buonanotte.

Lewis Hall and Levi Colwill are Chelsea's representatives on the shortlist.
Other well-known names on the shortlist include Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Benfica's Antonio Silva, PSG's Warren Zaire-Emery and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
The 'longlist' of 100 names will be reduced to 80, 60 and 40, with a final shortlist of 20 names competing for the award, which is voted for by journalists.
The top 100 list is consistently updated using data firm Football Benchmarks, with an updated list for July represented via a poll on Tuttosport's website.
