Gary Lineker has amassed a ridiculous amount of money from his podcast during Euro 2024.
The former England international’s The Rest is Football is one of the most popular podcast shows in the space featuring Alan Shearer and Micah Richards as co-presenters.
Lineker and co have ramped up the amount of shows while out in Germany for the BBC’s coverage of the European Championship, with the panel going viral for their analysis of England’s performances in the group stages.

Lineker labelled England’s performance in the draw against Denmark as ‘s***’ which led to both Harry Kane and Declan Rice publicly commenting on the criticism in the media.
Downloads of the show have skyrocketed as a result which has led to Lineker amassing a small fortune from the podcast since England’s first game against Serbia.
Analysis from The Times suggests the BBC pundit has earned more than £125,000 during Euro 2024, with the earnings split equally between Lineker, Shearer, Richards and the company’s production company Goalhanger Podcasts.

Advertising rates on podcasts are relatively high because listeners are considered to be a highly engaged and upmarket audience.
Lineker’s son Harry produces the podcast and said that downloads of the show had risen 62 per cent since the start of the Euros with views on YouTube up 83 per cent.
The controversy surrounding Lineker’s criticism of England has reportedly irritated figures at the BBC who believe Lineker’s commercial interests are benefiting from his position as lead presenter of their Euro 2024 coverage.

Speaking about Lineker’s comments, England captain Kane urged ex-England players to remember what it was like to wear the shirt.
He said: “All I would say is, remember what it is like to wear the shirt and that their words are listened to. “Some of the lads... I don’t know how many, but we do hear it.
“We all want to win a major tournament and I am sure they want us to win a major tournament, and being as helpful as they can and building the lads up with confidence would be a much better way of going about it.”
