Gary Lineker called out the BBC and told a journalist to get off his 'high horse' with a stinging social media post.
Former England star Gary Lineker has never been one to hide his views on social media, something that has landed him in hot water with his employers.
In March 2023, the BBC temporarily suspended the Match of the Day presenter for breaching its social media guidelines, after he criticised the language used by ministers when discussing the government’s asylum policy.

As a result, many BBC Sport presenters and commentators boycotted the broadcaster until Lineker was brought back.
Lineker has directly criticised the BBC over other issues in the past, and now he's done so again when addressing the subject of protesting outside peoples' homes.
Earlier this week, pro-Palestine activists demonstrated outside the house of Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer and called for him to "use his influence" to stop the UK sending arms to Israel.

Three people - who placed children's shoes in Starmer's front garden and draped a banner over his hedge - have denied a public order offence
On Wednesday, Times Radio host Matt Chorley tackled a Youth Demand activist over the decision to protest outside the politician's home.
While Lineker agreed that invading someone's privacy to protest is wrong, he felt uncomfortable with the double standards set by certain media outlets, who regularly gather outside the homes of celebrities including himself.

He even called out the BBC, whose journalists were among those who 'door-stepped' Lineker outside his home when he was suspended by the organisation.
Lineker wrote on X: "It’s wrong to protest outside someone’s home, however peacefully, but please spare me the media getting on its high horse: I, like many others, have been doorstepped on numerous occasions by newspaper, radio, and television reporters for days on end…even the BBC who I work with. It’s no different."
