The football rich list has been revealed.

The richest men's and women's clubs in world football have been revealed.

Earlier this week, Real Madrid officially became the first men's team ever to generate more than €1 billion (around £844m) in a single season.

In the latest Deloitte Football Money League report, Real were shown to have to made nearly €1.046 billion (£883m) during the 2023/24 season.

It is stated that this was down to matchday revenue, which doubled up to €248 million after renovations to the club's Santiago Bernabeu were completed. There was also an increase to commercial revenue.

Los Blancos have long been one of - if not the - most financially powerful club in world football, and have shifted their transfer strategy in recent years to largely target younger players that can be developed, rather than the old Galactico policy which saw them spend huge sums on the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane.

In second place in the men's list is Manchester City (€837.8 million), with Paris Saint-Germain (€805.9m) placing in third.

Meanwhile, in the women's game, Barcelona (€17.9m) topped the list - by the barest of margins.

Barca have been the biggest superpower in the women's game for a number of years, and have won the Women's Champions League in three of the last four seasons.

They possess a number of world superstars in their ranks, with Aitana Bonmati, Caroline Graham Hansen and Selma Paralluelo making up the top three in the 2024 Ballon d'Or rankings.

The majority of their usual starting XI make up the Spain national team, with Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro and Ona Batlle among their other top stars.

They kept top spot with a 35 per cent increase in revenue compared to 2022/23 - meaning they accumulated the highest seasonal revenue of any women's club in history.

Les Cules narrowly finished ahead of Arsenal (also €17.9m) in the women's rich list table, while reigning Women's Super League champions Chelsea (€13.4m) were in third.

The Blues won two trophies under Emma Hayes last season and are yet to lose a game in any competition this season under her replacement Sonia Bompastor.

Manchester United, meanwhile, earned €10.9 million - in what could be a reminder to minority co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe about the potential that the team has to achieve success.
