Erling Haaland and Harry Kane rank among the best for goal contributions so far in the 2023/24 season - but they have been pipped to top spot by a surprise name.

After breaking multiple Premier League records in his first campaign with Manchester City last season, Haaland has been involved in 10 goals so far this term.

He has eight goals in just six games in the league, while he provided an assist against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League earlier this month and in the Premier League win over Fulham, when he also scored a hat-trick.

Kane, meanwhile, has hit the ground running after completing a £100 million move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham in the summer.

The England international has scored seven goals and provided three assists in the Bundesliga, again showcasing his all-round game.

He was involved in five goals in one match as Bayern defeated Bochum 7-0 on Saturday, scoring a hat-trick and assisting twice.

Kane also scored against Manchester United in the Premier League and assisted Leroy Sane's opening goal in their 4-3 win.

But both players are behind a surprise name in the goal contribution standings.

That player is none other than Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy, who has been involved in 13 goal contributions this term.

The Guinea international, 27, began his campaign by netting twice in an opening day 5-0 win over Bochum, before scoring again in a 5-1 defeat at RB Leipzig.

The goals only continued with a brace against Freiburg - another 5-0 win - before a hat-trick in a 3-1 away win over Mainz.

And Guirassy's latest brace - in the 3-1 win over Darmstadt on Friday - means he has 10 goals in just five Bundesliga matches. He also grabbed an assist against Darmstadt.

The incredible tally means the Guinea star is only two league goals away from his haul from the entirety of last season - and that was the best scoring season of his professional career.

Can Guirassy keep the goalscoring up? Stuttgart will hope so, given they have won four of their opening five Bundesliga games and sit third in the table behind Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen.
