Jordan Pickford slammed for what he did immediately after England’s draw against Slovenia

Jordan Pickford slammed for what he did immediately after England’s draw against Slovenia

England produced an awful performance against Slovenia in Cologne.

Jordan Pickford has been slammed for what he did immediately after the final whistle of England vs Slovenia.

Gareth Southgate’s men secured top spot in Group C and advanced into the last 16 of Euro 2024 after drawing 0-0 against Slovenia.

Despite making it through to the next stage, fans were left unhappy after yet another dreadful performance from the Three Lions.

Over the course of the group stage, England have only managed to score two goals, which is the same amount as Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo.

Immediately after the final whistle was blown on Tuesday night, England goalkeeper Pickford was spotted gesturing to the crowd.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Jordan Pickford, have some shame.”

Another tweeted: “Jordan Pickford trying to get the crowd going after that. Absolute idiot.”

A third fan added: “Jordan Pickford trying to get the crowd up lol. Mate that was sh**e.”

Someone else wrote: “Read the room, Jordan Pickford.”

Despite a largely disappointing night for England, it is a night for Pickford to remember.

After keeping a clean sheet against Slovenia, Pickford has now kept more clean sheets at major tournaments than any other goalkeeper in England’s history.

BBC Sport wrote on social media: “Jordan Pickford now has the record for the most clean sheets for England in a major tournament (11)!”

Speaking after the match, England captain Harry Kane said: “That was the aim before the start of the tournament. Come top of the group and control our destiny. I thought we played a lot better than the other games. We couldn't just find that finish but we look forward to the next one.

"We created some half chances and there were some that we could maybe have done better."
