One of England’s key men has come under fire for his performance in the Three Lions' 5-0 win against the Republic of Ireland this evening.
The fixture was Lee Carsley’s last as interim manager of the senior team.
The away side started by showing a disciplined first-half performance, with England seemingly unable to manoeuvre their way through Ireland’s resolute defensive line.

However, the floodgates opened during the second half when the home side treated fans to five goals in 26 minutes at Wembley.
Harry Kane, Jarrod Bowen, Conor Gallagher, Anthony Gordon and debutant Taylor Harwood-Bellis all got on the scoresheet, but fans were still not happy with captain Kane - with some supporters even explaining how they think it is time to move on from the Three Lions’ record goal scorer.
One said: “If Harry Kane is to stay in the XI, Tuchel needs to make sure Kane doesn’t drop deep. Kane can score, not run.”

Another added: “Harry Kane always somehow makes England look worse. He’s lost possession multiple times, he’s got zero pace, and no one presses high up the pitch with him on. He’s past it, let Watkins take over, for the good of English football.”
A third said: “How slow is Harry Kane? I’ve seen pensioners run for the bus quicker.”
With the fourth in agreement, saying: “England are a worse team with Kane playing.”

However, not everyone was so critical with one fan leaping to defend the Bayern Munich man’s defence by saying: “20 goals & 7 assists in 21 games for club and country this season. Harry Kane is out of this world.”
The victory meant that England topped League B Group 2 of the Nations League, finishing with five wins from their six fixtures in the competition so far this term.
Attention will now turn to the official arrival of Tuchel in January.
Carsley and the German are expected to have a 'handover' meeting but interim boss admitted he may not be able to offer the incoming man his expertise given the gap in experience between the pair.

“I am not sure I will give Thomas [Tuchel] a lot of advice,” Carsley explained before the match.
“He is in a better position than I am in terms of the experience he has had and the staff he has.
“I’m putting together a lot of thoughts, as are the rest of the staff.
“I fully expect to catch up with him after the camp, and hopefully, we can hand the team over in a good position.”
