Odds on England's next manager to replace Gareth Southgate emerge and there's one clear early favourite

Odds on who could replace Gareth Southgate have emeged.

The odds on England's next manager to replace Gareth Southgate has emerged and there's an early favourite.

Southgate has come in for criticism following England's drab showing against Denmark on Thursday.

He left fans stunned with his claim during his post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw in Frankfurt.

Despite dropping points against the Danes, the Three Lions are still in pole position in Group C and can secure top spot with a win over Slovenia next Tuesday.

And ahead of Southgate's contract expiring this year, odds via Oddschecker have emerged on who will replace the 53-year-old.

Graham Potter, who is without a club following his Chelsea dismissal, is the clear favourite with odds of 9/4 ahead of fellow Englishman Eddie Howe, who is currently in charge of Newcastle United.

Mauricio Pochettino, also formerly of Chelsea, is priced at 9/1 ahead of England under-21 manager Lee Carsley.

Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, Paris Saint-Germain's Luis Enrique and ex-Bayern Munich gaffer Thomas Tuchel are among the other candidates who have been priced to replace Southgate.

Southgate is contracted at England until December 2024, potentially paving the way for a new manager once his deal is up.

He's guided England to a World Cup semi-final and a Euros final during his time in charge of the national team.

Even though his side have struggled at Euro 2024, Southgate will be hoping to lead his team all the way in what could be his last major competition in charge of England.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw with Denmark, he said: "There's a huge amount of work [to do], that's evident from the performances we've given.

"We have to stay tight, we understand people will be disappointed with the performances - and rightly so. We've got to make them better."

England have four points to their name in Group C ahead of resuming their German venture next Tuesday.
