Gareth Southgate was ruthless in his treatment of Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho ahead of England snub.
On Tuesday afternoon, the England boss named his 33-man provisional squad for the upcoming Euro 2024.
Southgate made the brave decision to leave out experienced players such as Jordan Henderson, Marcus Rashford and Ben Chilwell.

In turn, there were call ups for the the likes of Jarell Quansah, Curtis Jones, Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton.
United outcast Sancho was overlooked by the Three Lions boss despite putting in some promising performances since joining former club Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.
As reported by The Times, Southgate did not phone Sancho to inform him that he was being left out.

The report stated: “Ben Chilwell and Kalvin Phillips can book their holidays too.
“And even if Jadon Sancho is man of the match in the Champions League final at Wembley, he is heading for the beach. Southgate admitted he didn’t even call Sancho to say he was being left out.”
Speaking about his selection, Southgate told reporters: “This has been as complicated a group as I can remember picking. And we’ve had quite a few complicated ones!

“But I think we can make better decisions by giving ourselves more time. There are moments where actually time doesn’t help you to make a better decision but in this instance it will.”
He added: “There’s a lot to think about over the next couple of weeks. I’d have loved it to have been cleaner and more definitive. But it’s not a situation we’re in.
“So, yeah, they’re different problems, but we’re used to dealing with it and the key is making the best possible decisions.”
Ahead of the tournament, the Three Lions will play two friendly matches against Bosnia and Iceland.
