Aside from his goals, Nunez also impressed with his build-up play as he often held the ball up and produced some neat touches to play his teammates in.
The 24-year-old is now the top goal scorer in the 2026 World Cup qualifying for the CONMEBOL section with five goals.
In addition, Nunez also has two assists to his name. In total, the striker has 10 goals and 7 assists in 22 appearances for Liverpool and Uruguay.
Nunez’s recent form has come at the right time with Liverpool set to take on Manchester City on Saturday.

Reds boss Klopp will be aware of Nunez’s performance during the international break and will be faced with a selection headache.
Although Nunez is guilty of missing a few big chances, his unpredictability, power, pace and clever movement could be the key for Liverpool to finally break their horrid league run at the Etihad Stadium.
City are expected to have more of the ball when the two teams collide on Saturday, meaning Klopp could have the perfect opportunity to utilise Nunez’s skill set on the counter-attack when they win the ball back.
Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo have often been preferred but surely Nunez’s form means he can’t be overlooked for such an important clash in Liverpool’s potential Premier League bid.
