Toni Kroos' brilliant response to Cristiano Ronaldo reaching 900 career goals instantly goes viral

Toni Kroos' brilliant response to Cristiano Ronaldo reaching 900 career goals instantly goes viral

Toni Kroos made a hilarious joke in response to Cristiano Ronaldo's remarkable achievement.

Toni Kroos delivered a brilliant response to his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo reaching 900 career goals.

Ronaldo scored the 900th goal of his legendary career in Portugal's 2-1 win over Croatia on Thursday.

He converted from close range following Nuno Mendes' sublime cross to double his side's lead.

The 39-year-old wheeled away as he produced a hugely-emotional celebration.

After his achievement, Ronaldo took to social media to reflect on his 900 goals.

He posted a montage, accompanied with the caption: "I dreamed of this, and I have more dreams. Thank you all!"

His current and former teammates reached out to congratulate him on his achievement, including Kroos, who played with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner at Real.

Kroos and Ronaldo enjoyed a legendary spell as teammates, notably winning three Champions League titles.

And he made a hilarious joke in reaction to his former club colleague's milestone.

On X, the German wrote: "Don’t even reach 900 if i combine games and training goals."

Kroos' joke is a testament to Ronaldo's achievement and shows how absurd it is to reach 900 career goals.

But the former Manchester United star knew he was going to achieve the remarkable tally.

"Only me and the people around me know how difficult it is to work daily to be physically and psychologically well and reach goal 900," he said.

"It's a unique milestone in my career and it was with a lot of emotion I celebrated that goal. It represents a lot.

"It was the number I wanted to achieve for a long time and I knew I would achieve it because, as I continue to play, it would happen naturally.

"I already won two trophies for Portugal, something I really wanted. Whatever comes next is spectacular.

"I dreamed of this and I have more dreams."

Ronaldo, who now has 131 international goals, has the chance to improve his goal tally when Portugal face Scotland on Sunday.
