Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could face off one last time as Al Nassr star linked with controversial transfer

Could we see one last dance between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could be set for one last meeting after the Portuguese legend was linked with a shock move away from Al Nassr.

Back in January of 2023, Ronaldo made the decision to ditch European football after his second spell at Manchester United ended in bitter fashion.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner opted to move to Saudi Arabia to sign for Al Nassr.

In the summer of that year, Messi left Europe too as he swapped Paris Saint Germain for Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami.

Having played against each other on multiple occasions during their time in European football, the legendary pair last met on the same pitch when Al Nassr took on PSG in an exhibition match in Riyadh back in 2023.

That was thought to be their last meeting with both players now playing in different sides of the world.

However, things could change rapidly in football and now, it is been claimed that one last Ronaldo vs Messi match could be in the pipeline.

Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi for one final time?

As reported by talkSPORT, Ronaldo is in the last six months of his Al Nassr contract and could sign for rivals Al Hilal in the summer.

If Ronaldo does sign for Al Hilal, a reunion with Messi could happen as they are due to take part in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, a competition in which Inter Miami will also be involved.

The report stated: "Do not be surprised to see Cristiano Ronaldo switch Saudi sides to give himself one final shot at Lionel Messi.

"There are suggestions he could leave as a free agent at the end of the season and sign for Al-Hilal, who will be part of FIFA’s jamboree."

To make matters more appealing, Al Hilal have been drawn in the same group as Ronaldo's former side, Real Madrid, with whom he enjoyed the most successful period of his stellar career.

During his time with Los Blancos, the 39-year-old scored 450 goals in 438 matches across all competitions.

Ronaldo also lifted four Champions Leagues, two La Liga titles and three FIFA Club World Cups among other trophies as a Madrid player.
