An official Ligue 1 social media account has savagely fired back at Cristiano Ronaldo following his disparaging comments about France's top flight.
On Friday, Ronaldo attended the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he picked up two prestigious individual prizes.
He collected the Best Middle Eastern Player as well as the Top Goalscorer of All Time awards.
Ronaldo also conducted a wide-ranging interview as he made his feelings clear on his former side Manchester United.

Having won the Champions League an impressive five times during his legendary career, he also gave his thoughts on this season's competition.
And the 39-year-old, who is in his third season at Al Nassr, aimed a brutal dig at Ligue 1, too.
He claimed the Saudi Pro League is a better league than France's first division, claiming it only has Paris Saint-Germain.
"Saudi League is better than Ligue 1. France only has PSG. The rest are finished," he exclaimed. "Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see... It is difficult to become champion in Saudi.

"This year Al-Hilal are better, Al-Ittihad are top of the league, but I believe that we have to push hard to be champions. I've been champion everywhere I have [played] and I believe I will be champion [in Saudi Arabia]."
Ligue 1's Spanish X account swiftly replied to Ronaldo's comments with a Lionel Messi taunt.
They referenced the player's own quote, accompanied with a picture of Messi celebrating his World Cup triumph in Qatar, captioned: "Leo Messi playing in 38 degrees."

Messi inspired Argentina to World Cup glory in 2022 and won the Golden Ball award in the process.
Ronaldo has failed to win the World Cup during his stellar career, with Ligue 1's Spanish account clearly poking fun at this.
