Cristiano Ronaldo charges a staggering amount for sponsored Instagram posts as the most followed celebrity on the social media site.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers of all time, having won pretty much everything there is to win.

He's played for huge clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, and captained his country Portugal to European Championship glory in 2016.

The 39-year-old has scored a remarkable 891 goals during his career, but it's not just on the pitch that he is succeeding.

Ronaldo isn't just a star footballer, but also one of the most recognisable celebrities on the planet.

He's also very marketable - after all, he's in incredible shape and is in a long-term relationship with model and social media influencer Georgina Rodriguez.

Ronaldo has commercial and sponsorship deals with huge brands including Nike, Armani and Tag Heuer.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner also earns a staggering amount through sponsored Instagram posts, which he shares with his 600 million plus followers.

In fact, Ronaldo tops the celebrity rich list when it comes to earnings from sponsored Instagram posts.

According to CNN, the Al-Nassr attacker earns a whopping $3.23 million (£2.57m) per Instagram post, while long-term rival and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi earns $2.6m (£2.07m).

The next highest ranking celebrity is Kylie Jenner, who earns around $1.8m (£1.43m) every time she shares a post with her near-400m followers.

Ronaldo's earnings from social media have sky-rocketed in recent years; as recently as 2019, he was earning around £755,000 per sponsored post.

Ronaldo became the highest earning athlete on the planet when he joined Al-Nassr after leaving Manchester United at the end of 2022.

The attacker signed a deal valid until 2025 worth an estimated £177m per year, including a £62m yearly salary plus various commercial bonuses.

Recently there have been reports that Ronaldo could make a shock return to Europe, although he is also open to staying in the Saudi Pro League.
