An Arsenal star once had his 'payslip' 'leaked' online, revealing exactly what a footballer playing for a top European club is paid.
We all know that playing for a top European football teams is one of the best-paid jobs in the world.
In European leagues, the exact figures of what a player earns are typically hidden by the club, although they are often reported on in the media, but some leagues like the MLS in America decide to release the official numbers for everyone to see.

However, there have been several times when a European player has had their payslips being leaked, and this is exactly what allegedly happened to one Arsenal star back in 2019.
Arsenal winger Raheem Sterling's payslip was reportedly discovered during his time as one of the top earners playing for Manchester City.
It was speculated that the Englishman's slip was left in his car when taking it to the garage and someone stumbled across it before posting it online.

The document showed Sterling’s basic pay and loyalty bonus, as well as monumental tax bill of £5.4 million that he was required to pay.
It should be noted that there is no confirmation that the slip is legitimate and it's possible that it was doctored in some way.
Sterling played 339 times for City and scored 131 goals, winning four Premier League titles, five League Cups, one FA Cup and one Community Shield.

He then left for Chelsea in a £47.5 million switch in 2022, where he has played 81 times and scored 19 goals.
Chelsea finished 12th and ninth in his first two seasons leading to Sterling seemingly falling out of favour with new manager Enzo Maresca.
Sterling's tensions with the former Leicester City manager culminated in him joining London rivals Arsenal on a season-long loan on the final day of the summer transfer window.

"It's an unbelievable feeling. It's really exciting," Sterling said. "It [the move] is one where we kind of left it late, but it's one I was hoping for.
"Looking at everything, I'm just, like, 'this is a perfect fit for me', and I'm super happy that we got it over the line."
