Fans are all in agreement after hearing the official reason behind the decision to not send Moises Caicedo off.

Caicedo started in the heart of the Chelsea midfield as they took on local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski scored to make it 2-0 inside 11 minutes before Jadon Sancho reduced the deficit with 17 minutes on the clock.

In the 33rd minute, Chelsea star Caicedo was perhaps lucky not to be sent off after what looked like a rough challenge on Spurs midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.

Caicedo made contact with Sarr's shin but VAR checked and cleared the decision.

Sky Sports commentator Peter Drury said that the challenge by Caicedo lacked excessive force, which was the reason why he stayed on the pitch.

An official explanation was given by the Premier League Match Centre, who wrote on social media: "VAR checked for a potential red card following a challenge by Caicedo on Sarr and confirmed the referee’s call of no serious foul play."

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Curtis Jones on the same very ground…"

Another tweeted: "Jones and Mac Allister for far less."

A third fan added: "No different to the one which saw Curtis Jones receive a red card for against Spurs last season."

Someone else wrote: "Lack of excessive force apparently, now go back and look at every red card given for exactly the same tackle, not just against Arsenal btw but in general, first one that comes to my mind, Curtis Jones."

A fifth commented: "Spurs vs Liverpool, Curtis jones feet slipped on the ball ended up hit Bissouma, Liverpool Red card. TODAY CAICEDO similar situation(Dangerous foul on Sarr),ref not interested, VAR not interested."

Former Liverpool man Jamie Carragher said on commentary: "What?! Have I missed something there? That is unbelievable. I don't like seeing people sent off but I was certain that was going to be a red card. They've got away with a huge one there."
